About us of Garden Ku Pottary Class

IMG_3412.jpgGarden Ku is a gardening hub, located nearby the Botanical Gardens in Penang Island. Within the vicinity, there are nursery, gardening shop selling many kinds of pots, and our pottary class.

The classes are given by the retired and volunteered Japanese teachers with some assistance of local volunteers. We are open to all skill levels, and also take children of 10 years old and above. We have the facility of electric wheels, and off course we also teach the techniques of hand-forming and slab building etc. The class fee includes the cost of materials such as clay and paints, we also prepare all the necessary tools. The students can bring back their own works after we fired them. Normally students can make 1 - 2 works in one lesson.

About the course

We have classes on every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Each day has 2 sessions: morning session 10:00 - 12:00 and afternoon session 14:00 - 16:00.
At this moment, Mr Okamoto is in charge of Thursday and Saturday, Mr Nakano is in charge of Friday.

The course fee is RM120 per pax for 4 lessons.

We can also organize a group trial lesson by request. This trial lesson is very popular for school or corporate events and private parties. For example, for school events, every child can make his work at RM25(onward) during this lesson, and they can bring back after we fired their works. Pls contact us for the further details.

ガーデン・クーはペナン島の植物園にほど近い、ガーデニング専門店です。緑豊かな広い敷地内には、植物販売所、植木鉢や瓶などガーデニング用品の専門店、そして私たちの陶芸教室があります。

陶芸教室はペナンでリタイヤした日本人の陶芸愛好家がボランティアで講師を代々受け持っており、地元の愛好家とともにがんばって続けています。初心者から上級者まで、下は10歳から上は限りなく、誰もが気軽に楽しく通える教室です。ここでは“手びねり”から“たたら作り”、“電動ろくろ”を使った本格的な陶芸が学べ、必要な道具は教室の方で用意しています。講習代には材料費が含まれ、作品はこちらで焼成して後日お持ち帰りいただいております。大体1回のレッスンで1〜2個の作品ができます。

レッスンについて

毎週木曜日、金曜日、土曜日の10:00〜12:０0の午前の部と、14:00〜16:00の午後の部がございます。
現在、木曜日と土曜日は岡本先生、金曜日は中野先生が受け持っています。

講習代は通常4回でRM120をいただいております。これには材料費も含まれます。

また、当教室では団体さまの特別体験レッスンなどの企画も承っております。学校での課外授業やお誕生日会など、ユニークなイベントとして大変ご好評いただいております。たとえばお子様の団体体験レッスンの場合、１人RM25〜で作品を作っていただき、後日こちらで焼成して作品をお渡ししています。お気軽にご相談ください。
